Tennessee Valley Theatre in Spring City, Tennessee, will present "Shrek the Musical" in four performances at the theatre, 184 W. Jackson Ave.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 and 15, 2 p.m. Dec. 9 and 16.
"Shrek the Musical" is based on the 2001 DreamWorks Animation film "Shrek."
Shrek, a big green ogre, lives contentedly in a swamp when his life is disrupted by a band of fairy-tale characters who show up at his door asking for his help.
They explain they have been banished from the kingdom by evil Lord Farquaad and lost their homes - including Shrek, who learns he has lost his swamp. Farquaad tells Shrek that in order to regain his swamp he must rescue Princess Fiona.
Shrek sets off on this epic quest with his sidekick, Donkey, unaware that he is about to uncover Fiona's secret and find true love.
