photo "The Telephone Show" exhibit began with this work by Claire Bloomfield of Nashville.

"The Telephone Show" is an art project/exhibition based on the childhood game, Telephone. The game begins with one child whispering a sentence into the ear of another child. That child then whispers what was heard to the child beside him, who repeats it to the next one and so on. As the sentence is passed around the circle, it changes and by the time it reaches the last child it has become a completely different sentence.

"The Telephone Show" features artists from five states and one from Canada. The project started with a mixed-media photo by Claire Bloomfield. After that, another artist took Bloomfield's piece and made his own work influenced by that piece. From there, 21 more artists joined suit.

The artists had three weeks to create a piece as close or as loosely related to the original as they desired, as long as the product was new and directly inspired by the one before it.

Participating artists are Claire Bloomfield, Rylan Thompson, Heath Montgomery, Sue Fox, Damien James, Carrie Pendergass, Christine Bespalec-Davis, Amanda Brazier, Andrew Nigh, Sarah Noreen, Sean Whittaker, Lara Wolf, Maria Willison, Daniel Peterson, Eric Rivera, Mark Leamon, Sean Abrahams, Caitlin Dickens, Myles Freeman, Matthew Dutton, Dax Van Aalten, Ashley Hamilton and Taylor Turner.

ShapeShifter is a contemporary moving gallery, highlighting forward-thinking artists. The gallery usually features one-night gallery shows taking place in a variety of spaces around Chattanooga.
