The Chattanooga Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. has been selected by the National Arts and Letters Commission to host Delta Authors on Tour for the Southern region, which includes Alabama, the Bahamas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee.
The tour stops in Chattanooga on Saturday, April 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Chattanooga State Community College in Albright Omniplex Rooms 124 and 126, 4501 Amnicola Highway.
Guests will have an opportunity to mix and mingle in a cafe-style setting with the six female authors on tour. They are Dr. Sharon Cannon, Raeven Goodman, Dr. Myrtle Means, Stephanie Perry Moore, Charlaine Price and Angela Ray.
Their books' topics range from women of the Bible, self-empowerment and how to add flavor to a relationship to surviving cancer or a chronic disease and youth/young adult Christian fiction.
Guests can review and purchase signed books while they enjoy hors d'oeuvres and live music provided by R&B jazz musician Danny Sample. The first 100 attendees will receive a swag bag.
Although the event is free, guests are encouraged to get tickets at Eventbrite.com (search Delta Authors on Tour) in order to help organizers with a food count. However, walk-ups without a ticket will be admitted as space allows.
