Pack a picnic, blanket and chairs, and head to Howard Finster's Paradise Garden on Saturday, Sept. 28, for an evening under the stars with live music and a movie in the folk art environment.
The night begins with music by Sam Wheelock while the sun sets followed by a screening of "The Winding Stream," voted SXSW Best of Fest.
The award-winning documentary tells the dramatic tale of the Carter and Cash families and their impact on the course of country music. The 90-minute music documentary is produced and directed by Beth Harrington.
"Part history, part family saga, the film highlights a who's who of country music including Johnny Cash, George Jones, Rosanne Cash, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine, The Carolina Chocolate Drops and more," Harrington says in a news release.
Gates will open at 7 p.m. for chair set-up. Music and a movie in Paradise Garden will start at 7:30 p.m. Saturday with the movie at dusk. Exploring the garden by moonlight is just an added perk. Paradise Garden is located at 200 N. Lewis St., Summerville, Georgia.
Admission is $15 adults, $10 senior adults, $5 students, free for children under 12 and for Chattooga County residents. Tickets include admission to the garden and the Visitors Center.
