Golden Corral brings back all-day breakfast

The Scenic City can now take a collective sigh of relief: All-day breakfast is back at Golden Corral.

"It went away for about a month, and we heard a lot about it," said Rick Levine, general manager of Golden Corral's Gunbarrel Road location and a generally good guy. Now, you can once again enjoy the buffet's all-you-can-eat breakfast fixings, ranging from eggs, bacon and sausage-gravy biscuits to specialty eats such as peaches and cream waffles, any time of day, any day of the week.

Yes, breakfast any time is officially back for the masses. But if you know Rick, then you know it never really went away. Even when the promotion lagged, if a customer wanted scrambled eggs, Rick scrambled eggs. That's what it means to be a good guy.

"I have one customer that comes in five days a week. She always asks for our fish baked with butter instead of fried," said Rick. "If I have the time and the ingredients, I'll make anything a customer asks for."

But with Golden Corral's ever-rotating and expanding options, most customers have no trouble finding what they crave on the hot bar, which now includes endless prime rib and butterfly shrimp. The meaty new duo is available only after 11 a.m. on weekends and only for a limited time.

In fact, Rick recently "beefed up" the entire protein selection, adding pork steaks, barbecue chicken and Caribbean jerk chicken to the bar's everyday offerings. After all, it is his job to keep you full, happy and coming back for more - a job that has him working doubly hard since the unfortunate fire at Golden Corral's Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., location.

"That location will be closed for at least six months," he reported. "I'm inviting any of its staff to come work for me." Which means there will be more helping hands than ever keeping Golden Corral's endless buffet stocked and steaming.
