Mission BBQ will honor Korean War veterans with a free sandwich on Friday, July 27, at all locations of the barbecue restaurant. Mission BBQ is located at 1926 Gunbarrel Road in Chattanooga.

July 27 is the official holiday of National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day. On that day, multiple nations signed an armistice suspending all hostilities and securing peace on the Korean peninsula.

Friday's free sandwiches will be served to Korean War veterans between 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. As is Mission's tradition, the national anthem will play at noon in every location.

Mission BBQ was founded on Sept. 11, 2011, and its founders chose that day to remind visitors what makes this country great: its heroes. Their slogan mirrors that: "Proudly Serving Those Who Serve."

Mission BBQ donates to nonprofits that support the military and first responders such as the USO, Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Semper Fi Fund, Navy SEAL Foundation, Wreaths Across America, National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Honor Flight Network and many more.
