Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant, 2 W. Aquarium Way, is hosting Locals Only Night on Thursday, June 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. This new event will be held the first Thursday of each month, featuring a chef-curated menu and special cocktail highlighting local ingredients along with live music from local artists.

Foster Yates, general manager at Puckett's Chattanooga, said the Puckett's team is looking forward to spotlighting the city's vibrant culture.

"I'm a Chattanooga native, and I'm constantly amazed at all of the incredible talent and individuals that we have in our town," said Yates.

"We really wanted to create an event that brings our entire community together once a month for a night of delicious food, great music and appreciation for the city we all call home."

Thursday night's dinner special will feature grilled chicken breast topped with basil grown at the restaurant, along with local strawberries tossed in balsamic vinegar, extra-virgin olive oil and drizzled with a sweet balsamic reduction for $12.99.

The fruity, strawberry-centric cocktail special will be a Strawberry Float, with vanilla vodka, coconut rum, Sprite and strawberries, topped with whipped cream.

Michael McDade, a Chattanooga native who has been performing since 1994, will be the featured entertainment.

While the event is designed to celebrate Chattanoogans, everyone is welcome to attend Locals Only Night. If you're not a local, they'll make you feel like one.

The launching of Locals Only Night coincides with the rollout of Puckett's new menu, a yearly occurrence that allows the eatery to introduce new dishes, reimagine old standards and showcase their chefs' creativity.

The new menu most notably features new breakfast items, such as Smoked Brisket Hash, which consists of brisket, sweet onions, bell peppers, home fries with two sunny-side-up eggs and spicy barbecue sauce.

The Hoss Omelet includes crumbled sausage, bacon, home fries, onions and peppers smothered in pepper gravy, served with a side of white cheddar grits.

BBQ Pimento Cheese Bites add a savory touch of pulled pork mixed with pimento cheese and bacon that is breaded, flash-fried and topped with pepper jelly.

Additions to the entrée selection include The Whole Farm, giving diners a little taste of beef brisket, pulled pork, a fried chicken leg and baby back ribs. This dish comes with smoked baked beans, collard greens and coleslaw, and is ideal for sharing among friends and family.

Finish your meal with Tennessee Pound Cake, a thick slice of homemade cake pan-fried with butter until golden brown and served with vanilla ice cream, all topped with caramel sauce.
