The cold has settled in around the Chattanooga-North Georgia area, but not to worry. You can still enjoy your favorite sweet treat or big meal at Dari Dip in LaFayette, Georgia.

Owner Don Benton said the winter blues are nothing a good bite to eat can't fix.

"It might be cold outside, but that's the way ice cream likes it," he joked. "We've got just the right thing to fix you up."

Dari Dip has been a full-service restaurant since 2001. It's easily spotted, and even known for, its vintage building that was formerly a walk-up service window and its bright, classic neon sign.

As always, families can stop in for lunch or just a fun family outing. Church groups can be tucked away in Dari Dip's cozy private dining room.

For those who don't want to brave the cold and would rather have food brought to their door, Dari Dip has plenty of catering options suitable for any budget. Menu options range from tasty appetizers, including cheese sticks or potato pancakes, to classic entrees such as chicken-fried chicken, a shrimp platter or country-fried steaks.

"From steaks and seafood to hamburgers and hot dogs, we've really got something for everyone," Benton said, noting some of the customer favorites such as the shrimp platter, ribeye steaks and, of course, ice cream.

"If you can't find something here to eat, then you really aren't hungry," he says.

While the restaurant's slogan is "more than an ice cream store," you simply can't overlook the classic and super-creamy ice cream options for dessert.

The soft serves are a favorite with their more traditional flavors of vanilla, chocolate, twist (vanilla and chocolate) or orange sherbet, which conjures a delicious Creamsicle feel. Beyond that, customers can choose from 10 Mayfield hard ice creams to enjoy on their own or paired in a tasty, extra-thick milkshake or topping a cobbler or pie.

So if you find yourself in need of a pick-me-up or a break from the cold, dreary outside, just look for the neon sign on Villanow Street, and stop in to spend some time with the Bentons and their "family."
