Puckett's Gro. & Restaurant, 2 W. Aquarium Way, is opening its doors to two meaningful community events this month.
Puckett's will say thanks to all area nurses on Monday, Oct. 14, with its Nurses Appreciation Breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m.
Nurses Appreciation Breakfast thanks dedicated nurses in the Chattanooga community by offering a respite and a bite after they get off third shift.
Puckett's breakfast buffet that morning will be offered at a discount of $6.99 per person, along with $3 mimosas and $4 Bloody Marys all day for guests in the medical field.
Nurses will be entertained by local artist Ayla Silver from 7:30 to 9 a.m., and door prizes will be given away.
Puckett's Gro. & Restaurant Photo / Guests at a previous Nurses Appreciation Breakfast.The second event kicks off three days later when Puckett's celebrates the Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area with its second annual fundraising dinner on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Foster Yates, the restaurant's former general manager and Chattanooga native, who recently transitioned to open Puckett's in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is competing in the Kidney Foundation's Dare to Dance at the end of this month. Ten percent of sales from the Oct. 17 event will benefit his fundraising campaign.
The Kidney Foundation is particularly close to Yates' heart because he is a kidney transplant recipient, and has been a dedicated supporter of the organization for several years.
"This organization is one that positively impacts so many in the Chattanooga community. I've witnessed that first-hand," Yates said. "We hope that people come out to enjoy a great meal and live music, all while supporting a truly deserving cause."
Guests can expect to listen to live music and guest speakers at the fundraising dinner. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant at 423-708-8505.
