Thanks to the tireless efforts of chef Tim Mulderink and his team at The Chef and His Wife, you can now look forward to the chef's delectable pimento cheese line expanding into all Food City stores this year.

"We are presently in 25 stores reaching from Calhoun, Georgia, through Chattanooga and up into Cleveland," Mulderink said. "They have approved our four flavors of pimento cheese to be stocked in all 134 stores from Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky and Virginia."

The four flavors are Original, Smoked Gouda, Jalapeno and Hot 'n' Smokey. Mulderink noted that they are going through a process now of producing and testing the cheese spreads in large-volume production.

"It is paramount that our famous flavors and textures remain the same," he stressed, adding that taking care in this process and all its steps is of utmost importance to ensure quality.

"After mutually signing confidentiality agreements, they began making the bench samples according to our recipe," he said of the newfound partnership.

"Once we agree there is a match to our flavor, texture and creaminess, we will go into larger-volume production. Our cheese has flavor! It is tasty, creamy and has good texture that we will not skimp on."

The store is also working with a new package and labeling. The 8-ounce container is increasing to 12 ounces, due to customer request. Mulderink said they are predicting this to all fall into place by March.

In the midst of this exciting new venture, Mulderink said the company is continuing to make all its fine meals to go, sold directly from the store in Hixson.

Again this year, The Chef and His Wife is offering a Valentine's Dinner just in time to celebrate with your special someone in a stress-free way. The dinner for two includes Lobster Ravioli in Lobster Sauce, Roasted Prime Rib with au jus, Double Baked Potato, Chef's Vegetable Roll and Butter and White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert.

"This special dinner will come with heating instructions, and is priced at $69 plus tax," Mulderink said, adding that single portions are also available for pickup or delivery.
