In March of this year, Rolling Stone put out its list that has been known to jump-start careers: "10 Country Artists You Need to Know"

At the top of the list: The Wild Reeds from Los Angeles.

The Wild Reeds will bring their alt-country sound to Revelry Room on Tuesday, Aug. 15, for a 9 p.m. show.

The Wild Reeds' sound is built on the voices of its three talented frontwomen: Kinsey Lee, Sharon Silva and Mackenzie Howe. They swap leads on vocals as easily as they play the array of instruments in their sets. They are backed by Nick Jones on drums and Nick Phakpiseth on bass.

"All three songwriters bring a distinct style to the table, which creates the uniquely blended 'fourth voice' that has become their calling card," said the article.

The Wild Reeds' three singer-songwriters make music that is dynamic and unpredictable. They write lyrics and melodies with the thoughtfulness of seasoned folk artists. Since their interview on NPR's "Tiny Desk Concert" last year, more than 797,500 people have viewed The Wild Reed's three-song set on YouTube.
