Contemporary pianist Kris Carlisle, associate professor of music and chairman of the Department of Fine Arts at Berry College in Rome, Ga., will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, in Goodroe Auditorium at Dalton State College, 650 College Drive in Dalton, Ga.
Carlisle's "The American Evolution: Piano Sonatas" CD won a 2015 American Prize in Piano Performance Special Judges Citation.
It is the second phase of a larger recording project exploring the way in which contemporary American composers have merged traditional and contemporary musical languages.
