Chattanoogans can catch The Cadets, a 10-time Drum Corps International World Champion, today, July 13, as the musicians stop over in Chattanooga to rehearse on their way to a performance in DeKalb, Ill.

The Cadets are scheduled to rehearse at Red Bank High School, 640 Morrison Springs Road, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. before hitting the road again. The brass section will rehearse on the band's practice field on the right side of the high school; the color guard can be found on the football practice field at the left side of the school.

The Cadets' percussion section will rehearse downtown in Finley Stadium.

The Cadets unit is one of the world's oldest drum and bugle corps with members ages 16 to 22 from all over the country. The corps was founded in Garfield, N.J., in 1934 as the Holy Name Cadets.

In addition to 10 DCI championships, The Cadets also have won 10 American Legion National Championships.

The Cadets travel an average of 15,000 miles each summer as they compete and perform. This season's show is "Once Upon a Lifetime," and includes the music of "Appalachian Morning" by Robert Sheldon, "Blue Shades" by Frank Tichelli and "Simple Gifts" from "Appalachian Spring" by Aaron Copland.
