When The Young Fables play Puckett's on Saturday night, June 24, half of that duo may look familiar to fans of "American Idol."

Singer-songwriter Laurel Wright's audition was featured at the start of Season 15 of "Idol" as was her journey through the Hollywood rounds before she was cut when contestants were narrowed from 51 to 24 semifinalists.

She started singing at age 4 in churches around East Tennessee, wrote her first song at age 10 and had 30 songs to her credit by age 17. She won the 30th annual Texaco Country Showdown grand prize - which came with $100,000 and title Best New Act in Country Music - when she was 16.

In 2010, she partnered with Wesley Lunsford as The Young Fables. The Maryville, Tenn., duo has opened for artists such as Scotty McCreery, Randy Houser and Sara Evans.

The Joey Winslett Band will take the stage at Puckett's on Friday, June 23, at 9 p.m.

Joey Winslett (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica) is a musician from Soddy-Daisy who has been playing around the area since he was 15. Along with Richard King (bass), Micheal Bonner (lead guitar) and David Childs (electric guitar), all of Dunlap, Tenn., and Arron Raulston (drums) of Jasper, Tenn., they formed the Joey Winslett Band in 2013.
