Anyone who has followed the BoDeans' 30-year career knows that the band's built a loyal following with its blend of compelling songs and high-energy performances.

While famous for hard-rocking shows, the band is currently playing a handful of select markets in listening rooms for a more intimate version of their classics. Such a stop is planned in Chattanooga when the BoDeans play Songbirds Guitar Museum on Wednesday night, Oct. 18.

Best known for the catchy single, "Closer to Free," the band's adult alternative sound has led to multiple honors. These include a Rolling Stone Reader's Poll for Best New American Band in 1987, support slots with U2, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, George Thorogood, The Pretenders, David Bowie and numerous others.

The BoDeans have appeared at Farm Aid, Summerfest, ACL Festival and had TV guest spots on "Saturday Night Live," "Today," CNN and ESPN. The band also has a permanent installation at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum.

Their single, "Hey Pretty Girl," was used in an episode of "Dawson's Creek" and "Close to Free" was the theme song for the TV series "Party of Five." More recently, BoDeans music was featured in the Netflix original series, "The Ranch."
