Percussionist Fred Johnson performs at Blue Ridge Community Theater

Internationally known percussionist and vocal jazz improviser Frederick Johnson will be in concert Saturday, Sept. 9, at 7:30 p.m. CDT in Blue Ridge, Ga. His performance is part of the Live Music is Better series at the Blue Ridge Community Theater, 2591 E. First St.

Johnson has toured as a main stage performer as well as opening for such musical greats as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Corea, Herbie Mann, Nat Adderly, Joe Zawinul, David Sanborn, Richard Elliot, Ramsey Lewis, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Patti Austin, George Benson and BB King.

He has presented music and inspirational programs in association with Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. Maya Angelou, Dr. Michael Beckwith, Jack Canfield and Marianne Williamson.
