JJ's Bohemia joins in the Christmas merriment this weekend with a Sexy Santa Costume Party, Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest and anti-Christmas holiday show.
The fun starts Friday, Dec. 21, with the sexy Santa contest at 9 p.m. at the club, 231 E. M.L. King Blvd. Admission is $5 for the chance to put on your most festive costume and dance to the music of Ashley & the Xs, Kerchief and The Burning Giraffes. Everyone arriving in costume gets a $3 discount on admission at the door.
Winner of the best costume contest will get all sorts of cool band merchandise to fill their stocking at home.
» JJ's is hosting a "2-Nite Xmas Speshul" Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 22-23, featuring local band Strung Like a Horse.
Narcoleptic Bird opens for Strung Like a Horse at Saturday's 10 p.m. show.
On Sunday, Strung Like a Horse will get everyone in the Christmas spirit with an early evening acoustic set at 7 p.m. during the Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. The uglier the sweater the better.
Tickets for either night are $10, or pay $15 for both.
» On Christmas Day, it's time for JJ's annual anti-Christmas celebration, the War on Xmas.
You won't find any carols sung here, but you will hear music by Alex Volz, Pinecone and Praymantha. The 8 p.m. party will also include stand-up comedy, sideshow acts and burlesque.
This party is for ages 21 and up, with a suggested donation of at least $5 for admission.
