The Roueché Chorale and Orchestra will present their annual Holy Week concert "Colors of Grace, Lessons for Lent" by Joseph M. Martin on Tuesday, April 16, at 7 p.m. in Brainerd Baptist Church, 300 Brookfield Ave.

This cantata, first presented by the chorale in 2001, focuses on the teachings of Jesus as found in Mark's gospel. It encompasses the time frame from the Last Supper to the Crucifixion.

Through poignant music and narration, the cantata provides an opportunity to reflect on the events leading to the Crucifixion and in the promise of salvation.

In the presentation, Jesus instructs his Disciples to take his yoke and learn the lessons of service, obedience, humility and forgiveness. These ideas are visually represented by symbols and colors: basin and pitcher (white); cup (red); crown of thorns (purple); and cross (black).

Anthems in the cantata include "A Servant's Song," "A Shadow Fell on Sharon's Rose," "O Gentle Jesus" and "Come to the Cross." The theme "Take My Yoke Upon You" is heard at the beginning and restated after each anthem.

Soloists for this presentation will be Christina Malone, Duane Pontak and Robby Goff.

Admission is free and no ticket is required.
