Members of the MidSouth Symphonic Band have planned a rollicking Christmas concert to be held at Ringgold High School, 29 Tiger Trail in Ringgold, Georgia, on Sunday, Dec. 15.

Jim Souders will conduct the 3 p.m. concert. Admission and parking are free.

The concert's program will be a blend of sacred and secular music, including several fun, new arrangements.

The Christmas fanfare "Ornaments!" will open the concert. Souders says "Cowboy Christmas" and "We Wish You a Mambo Christmas" will have audience members laughing and toe- tapping.

"'All the World is Silent' beautifully evokes 'Silent Night,'" he says. "Other sacred Christmas melodies include 'We Three Kings' and 'What Child is This?'

"'A Holiday Celebration' is a refreshing musical spectacular that includes 'Over the River and Through the Woods,' 'Good Christians All Rejoice' and 'The Wassail Song.' Other yuletide melodies played by the band will include 'Coventry Carol' and 'Angels We Have Heard on High.'

"Our goal is to present a varied program that everyone can sing along with, tap their feet to and be wrapped in the warmth of the season. This concert is always a special one for us, and we look forward to making it a special time for our audience," said Souders.
