Rick Rushing will lead an open blues jam every Monday night in "The Nest," the lounge area at Songbirds South, 35 Station St. Sign-ups start at 6:30 p.m. and Rushing leads an open session starting at 8.
The jam is similar to an open mic night for singers but geared to "the other musicians" in the band, according to Johnny Smith, Songbirds president.
All equipment is provided. There is no charge to attend or participate.
A similar evening is planned each Wednesday with no limitations on musical genre.
