Since its conception, West End Blend has been playing its version of funk and soul in venues all over the Northeast.

Fronted by vocalist Erica T. Bryan, the band from Hartford, Connecticut, pays homage to classic throwback sounds while adding its own distinct vibe and flair. Behind Bryan, the seven-piece Blend packs a horn section, two guitars, bass, keyboards and drums onto stages.

The band is making a swing through the South this weekend as part of its national tour, and will stop in town Saturday, July 27, to headline Riverfront Nights at Ross's Landing, 201 Riverfront Parkway. Opening the free show at 7 p.m. will be Groove Grease.

From humble beginnings in a sweaty, funky, basement dance party, the Blend's goal has always been to bring that same atmosphere to every show since.

West End Blend released its debut record, "Rewind," in 2015. In September 2016, the Blend released EP "Say Hey!"

This tour supports the band's third album released in October 2018, "Live at the Waterhole."
