After more than two decades, the Heavenly Jubilee Gospel Festival is coming to a close.

Organizer Pat Hookey has announced that this weekend's gospel singing will be the last of the annual three-day music events. However, she will still continue to host music in area nursing homes, churches and on Saturday mornings at The Biscuit Barn.

This last gospel festival opens Thursday, Aug. 1, at 9 a.m. in Patriot Hall in Ringgold, Georgia. It continues from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 2-3. Hookey says more than 170 gospel acts have been scheduled over the three days. Each will get 15 minutes onstage.

Among these local and regional acts will be Kenny Webb, Highly Favored 3, The Yarbroughs, David James, The Pounders, Dewayne Castle, Luke Stone, Jacob Drake and Mike Slatton.
