The Lonesome River Band, The Kody Norris Show and David Peterson and 1946 are headlining this weekend's third Fall Forever Bluegrass Festival.

The bluegrass festival, held in memory of musician Boxcar Pinion, is drawing about 20 bluegrass acts to Mountain Cove Farms in Chickamauga, Georgia, Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 7-9. It's designed for fans to enjoy a variety of bluegrass acts as well as the colorful surrounding mountain scenery in the valley of McLemore Cove.

Bands will perform one-hour sets at the top of each hour.

Lonesome River Band released its latest album "Outside Looking In" in May of this year. It debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Bluegrass Music Chart. LRB's banjo player Sammy Shelor was nominated for International Bluegrass Music Association's Banjo Player of the Year in consecutive years from 2009-2018, winning in 2012, as well as nominations in 1995-98.

David Peterson has worked as a street musician in Nashville. His band is named 1946 as a nod to the year bluegrass music was born.

In addition to those headliners, performers will include Fox Mountain Express, New Grass Express, Lone Mountain Band, Barefoot Nellie and Company and youth performers from Fiddler's Anonymous. Visitors will find jam sessions around the campsite at all hours of each day.

Hot food and concessions will be sold. Local artists and crafts vendors will also be on-site.

Forever Bluegrass Festivals are organized by Cindy Pinion, Inez Pinion Castleberry and Ruth Pinion, daughters of Boxcar Pinion, who died of cancer in 1990.
