UTC Symphony Orchestra features Ronda Ford

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra will present a free concert featuring Dr. Ronda Ford, UTC adjunct professor of flute, on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 27, in the Humanities Theatre auditorium of Chattanooga State Community College.

The UTC Symphony Orchestra is made up of 60 musicians that include UTC music majors and nonmajors, faculty and community musicians. It is conducted by Sandy Morris.

Ford will be featured on Antonio Vivaldi's "The Goldfinch."

She is an instructor of flute at UTC, Dalton State College and Cadek Conservatory. She has performed at conferences for the College Music Society, National Flute Association and International Flute Orchestra. She is a member of the Fuze Trio, which includes faculty from UTC.

Also on the program is the "Fidelio Overture" by Ludwig van Beethoven, in honor of the upcoming celebration of his 250th birthday, as well as the "Polovtsian Dances" by Alexander Borodin and "The Cowboys Overture" by John Williams.
