Atlanta-based Duet for Theremin and Lap Steel returns to Barking Legs Theater Thursday night, Sept. 5, for an encore of their popular performance style, which they presented one year ago at the theater. They will be joined by dancers Ann Law and Beth Markham Herring, along with new work by Atlanta filmmaker Robbie Land.

The unique performance creates a variety of sounds from two nonfixed-pitch instruments and laptops in an improvisational environment. The musical exploration disregards traditional styles, instead creating sensory explorations.

Scott Burland (Theremin) and Frank Schultz (Lap Steel) have played numerous festivals and toured in this country as well as Europe over 13 years together. They were named Best Experimental Act in the Best of Atlanta 2018 issue of Creative Loafing.
