Lee University's School of Music Opera Theatre will present two one-act operas in performances Friday, Feb. 28, through Monday, March 2, in Dixon Center, 1053 Church St., Cleveland, Tennessee.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Monday, with a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday.
The singers will perform Gian Carlo Menotti's "The Old Maid and the Thief," directed by James Daniel Frost, associate professor of voice and director of Lee's Opera Theatre, and Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Riders to the Sea," directed by James Daniel Frost II.

Lee University’s Symphonic Band will perform on Tuesday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Conn Center, 150 11th St. NE, Cleveland, Tennessee.Directed by Dr. Mark Bailey, the band’s program will include “God of Our Fathers” by Claude T. "Old Maid and the Thief" is a comedy that exposes the gossip and secrets of a seemingly quiet town and reveals how suspicion, fear and the wrong circumstances can make regular people turn dishonest.
"Riders to the Sea," the J.M. Synge 1904 Irish drama, depicts the power of the sea and its devastating effects on an island community, taking the lives of the men and leaving the women behind to grieve.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for senior adults and children. They may be purchased at the Dixon Center box office, Monday-Friday, 3-6 p.m.
