Lee University School of Music will close this year's Performing Arts Series with the Beijing Guitar Duo on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m. The duo will also lead a masterclass on Monday, Feb. 3, at 6 p.m.

Both events will take place in Squires Recital Hall in Lee's Humanities Center, 1250 Parker St., Cleveland, Tennessee.

The program will include Debussy's "Petite Suite," Dun's "Eight Memories in Watercolor" and Piazzolla's "Tango Suite."

Praised by Classical Guitar Magazine as "having the star potential to serve as inspiration for new generations of guitarists to come," Beijing Guitar Duo made its New York debut in Carnegie Hall in 2010. The duo, guitarists Meng Su and Yameng Wang, has performed around the world.

Su and Wang will celebrate their 25th anniversary season this year with a 12-city concert tour in the United States, as well as performances in Europe and China. The duo regularly collaborates with orchestras and also performs in an ensemble with Marina Piccinini, flutist, and Grigoryan Brothers, guitarists. They also tour with their mentor Manuel Barrueco in Europe, Australia, Asia and the U.S.

The duo's debut CD, "Maracaípe," received a Latin Grammy nomination for its title piece. Their second CD, "Bach to Tan Dun," is noted for its world-premiere recording of Tan Dun's "Eight Memories in Watercolor."

Admission to the concert is free, but tickets are required due to limited seating. They are available at showclix.com or at the Dixon Center Box Office. Any remaining tickets will be available at the box office one hour before the concert.
