What's your pleasure?

Whether your taste in wine runs dry or sweet or somewhere in the middle, you can expect to find a favorite at Wine Over Water. Vintners from around the globe will have hundreds of red, white, rosé and sparkling varietals available for tastings.

This annual event, a fundraiser for the historic preservation work of Cornerstones Inc. and traditionally a sellout, returns Saturday, Sept. 28, on the Walnut Street Bridge.

Area restaurants will offer a variety of tasting plates for purchase. Regional musicians will entertain with everything from jazz to bluegrass as you stroll the bridge.

In an effort to ease crowding at the gates, check-in will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the south end of the bridge, 100 Walnut St., and at 4:30 p.m. at the north end, 202 Frazier Ave. However, wine tasting will not start until 5 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $70 through Friday, Sept. 27, and will cost $75 at the gate, if any remain.

For an additional ticket, you can attend Best Cellars, held the night before in celebration of the festival sponsors. Guests will sample from 150 premium wines and enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres and silent auction. Tickets are available online until noon Friday, Sept. 27, and the function starts at 5:30 p.m. at The Chattanoogan, 1201 Broad St. Best Cellars tickets are $100.
