State officials and the design team in charge of the new Tennessee State Museum will be in Chattanooga on Tuesday, April 26, to preview plans for the $160 million facility, which is set to open in 2018 in Nashville.
Part of a statewide tour, the local stop is scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Health Science Center at Chattanooga State Community College, 4501 Amnicola Highway.
Designed by Nashville-based EOA Architects, the 137,000-square-foot facility is envisioned as a museum, virtual-reality experience and time machine that tells the story of the state's art, history and culture.
