Living historians will present a Civil War artillery demonstration on Saturday, July 2, at Point Park on Lookout Mountain.

The firing of the cannon is meant to evoke the concussion of war in the way soldiers might have felt it during America's bloodiest conflict.

The 30-minute programs will start at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.

Admission to Point Park is $5 for ages 16 and older. Saturday's program is part of a summer series.

More demonstrations are scheduled Oct. 8-9 at Point Park as well as Sept. 3 and Sept. 17-18 at the Chickamauga Battlefield in Fort Oglethorpe.
