History Happy Hour explores Ocoee River

Blake McPherson, manager at Cherokee Rafting, and Ron Moore, creator of a documentary related to the Ocoee River, "The History of Caney Creek Village," will be among the experts on hand for History Happy Hour: Ocoee River at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the Museum Center at Five Points, 200 E. Inman St. in Cleveland, Tenn.

Their discussions will touch on the river's history, recreation, power supply, economy and community.

History Happy Hour is open to visitors 21 and older (ID required to enter), and tickets include an open wine/beer bar, featuring Mash & Hops Craft Beer.

Visitors also can tour the related exhibit, "One River, Many Stories: Ocoee River History and Heritage," which continues through mid-December.

History Happy Hour admission is free for members, $10 for nonmembers, $16 for nonmember couples.
