Constitution Day lecture at UTC features history professor Richard Gamble

Richard Gamble, a professor of history and Anna Margaret Ross Alexander Chair in History and Politics at Hillsdale College in Michigan, will deliver the sixth Constitution Day Lecture tonight, Sept. 15, at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

His topic: "The Constitution and Liberal Education." Constitution Day has been a federal observance since 2004 when bipartisan legislation was passed to mark the day the delegates to the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention signed the U.S. Constitution.

At UTC, events are overseen by the Center for Reflective Citizenship, which is dedicated to the improvement of civic education through liberal education.

Tonight's program starts at 7:30 in the University Center auditorium.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.
