Wild Ones welcomes expert on invasive plants

Dr. Daniel Simberloff, a pioneering figure in invasion biology, will speak to the Tennessee Valley Chapter of Wild Ones on Monday, Jan. 9, at GreenSpaces, 63 E. Main St.

A Harvard University graduate, Simberloff directs the University of Tennessee's Institute for Biological Invasions and is a professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology on the Knoxville campus.

He is the co-editor of the book Encyclopedia of Biological Invasions, hailed as an essential reference on global ecology.

His talk on current issues related to regional invasive plants will begin at 6 p.m.

Admission is free.
