Riverbend 2018: What to know before you go

ADMISSION

» A Riverbend wristband allows admission into the festival site. Children ages 10 and younger are admitted free with a paying adult.

» Thursday, June 7, is the last day to purchase a wristband for $44 at area Food City stores and Harry's Convenience Store locations. As of Friday, June 8, wristbands will be sold at Riverbend gates for $60.

» One-day admission is $30, or $20 for senior adults and members of the military.

» Admission is $10 on Faith and Family Night, Tuesday, June 12.

» If you plan to leave the festival site but want to return the same night, the wristband must be scanned in order to re-enter.

» Boaters may enter the festival through the Walnut Street Pier Gate, but must have purchased the festival wristband in advance to do so.

FESTIVAL SITE RULES

» Shirts and shoes required.

» Coolers, outside food and beverages, refillable containers and other picnic supplies are prohibited.

» Bags will be searched.

» Camcorders and audio equipment are not allowed. Cameras are allowed, but may be restricted in some areas.

» Pets, skateboards, scooters, bicycles, backpacks, roller blades, drones, laser pointers and weapons are not allowed.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE POLICY

Age verification wristbands are required for all alcoholic beverage consumption. Wristbands are available at all beer stations. A valid driver's license must be shown to verify the holder is 21 or older. Anyone violating these regulations or assisting others to do so will be removed from the festival.

HANDICAP SERVICES

Handicap-accessible parking is provided at the lot in front of the Tennessee Aquarium, adjacent to the Main Gate on Chestnut Street and Aquarium Way.

Viewing areas are reserved at ground level at each stage. Restroom facilities are available at each First Aid location.

TOKENS

Tokens are valued at 50 cents each. They are used for all food and beverage purchases. They are good for all festival days except the Bessie Smith Strut.

Unused tokens are nonrefundable at the end of this festival, but may be used at the 2019 Riverbend Festival.

SMOKING

The festival has seven designated smoking areas. There is an area located near each performance stage, at the Marina Gate on Riverfront Parkway and between the Olgiati Bridge and exhibitors.

The Family Zone is a smoke-free and alcohol-free area located at the corner of Chestnut Street and Riverfront Parkway near the steps that lead to the river.

PARK AND RIDE

Shuttle buses will be available from 4 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. each night of the festival except for Monday's Bessie Smith Strut. There is a $1 per ride fee.

Shuttle buses will drop riders off at the Marina Gate on Riverfront Parkway, located west of the Olgiati Bridge.

All other ride services - Uber, Lyft, taxis - should use the horseshoe entrance of the Tennessee Aquarium, located at Broad Street and Aquarium Way, to drop off passengers.

» What you should know about him: Although he just graduated high school in 2017, he has already won the Robert Johnson Rising Star Award presented by the R&B Hall of Fame, the Jus' Blues "In Honor of B.B.King" King of the Blues Award, Performance of the Year award at the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival and the 2016 Rising Star Award presented at the third annual New Blues Festival.

Switchfoot
