The aroma of barbecued chicken wings will fill First Tennessee Pavilion on Sunday, Sept. 23, when the annual Scenic City Wings competition sponsored by Springer Mountain Farms is held.

Marketgoers can sample wings from six restaurants in the competition for bragging rights and a golden ticket to the 2018 World Food Championships.

Competing will be Alchemy Spice/1885 Grill, Kozi Kitchen, Feed Table & Tavern, Flying Squirrel, Owl's Nest and Jack's BBQ. These grillmasters take their wings seriously, so marketgoers should sample them all.

Just pay $10 for a ticket that entitles the holder to sample two wings from each of the competing restaurants. Then vote on your favorite. Awards will be presented in People's Choice and Judge's Choice divisions.

All ticket sales will be donated to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

This is a Team Tennessee sanctioned event for the World Food Championships. The judges' choice will receive the ticket into the World Food Championships.

Between bites, enjoy the music of Hive Theory at 12:30 p.m. and Connection 27 at 2 p.m.
