Free tickets for SonRise Resurrection Pageant will be distributed to the community on Monday, April 8, beginning at 7 a.m. in Hamilton Place Mall. The ticket giveaway will be on the upper level of the mall by the Information Desk near JC Penny.
SonRise is the annual Easter pageant depicting the last days of Christ, which is annually presented by Southern Adventist University and the Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists. The elaborate production includes 500 costumed cast members, live animals and sets in a one-mile, walk-through of six interactive scenes from the Bible.
SonRise will be presented Saturday, April 20, in Collegedale. Groups will depart every half hour from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The route is handicap-accessible.
If past experience is any indication, Monday's 7,000 available tickets are expected to be gone in about 90 minutes. Tickets are required for everyone age 7 and up to attend the pageant.
No more than seven tickets will be given to any family, regardless of the church or group they represent. The person picking up tickets must be at least 16 years of age.
