Pack a picnic and bring the family to Greenway Farm Park, 5151 Gann Store Road, for Family Fun Day, an afternoon of activities on Sunday, Aug. 18.

Outdoor Chattanooga will provide equipment for families to try archery or take a self-guided hike between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. Appropriate for ages 5 and up.

Check in with staff at the archery table next to the dog park to register for activities. Admission and all activities except canoeing are free.

» Archery: All ages can test their aim at bull's-eye targets placed before an arrow-resistant net. This range will be located next to the dog park. Outdoor Chattanooga staff will provide instruction, guidance and equipment for this activity.

» Canoeing: Outdoor Chattanooga will provide all the equipment (tandem canoes, PFD, paddle) to paddle the creek at your own pace. Canoes are available from 4 to 6 p.m at the boat ramp behind the gardens. There will be a fee of $25 per canoe (cash or check only). Canoes will be rented on a first-come, first-served basis.

» Nature Hike: Seek adventure in a classic nature hike at the park. Take a leisurely stroll or head into the hills with suggested routes and a self-guiding map. Ask for a scavenger hunt list for some extra fun.

A liability release form will be required for canoeing and archery. Severe weather may cancel or delay this program. No reservation is required to attend.
