UPDATE: The Thursday, June 6, showing of "Black Panther" has been postponed to July 18 due to inclement weather.

The African-American Family Film Series will show family-friendly movies starring African-American casts each Thursday night in June at 8:30 p.m. in Miller Park. Bring a folding chair for seating.

This new, free event features movie showings sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, RISE Chattanooga and Urban League of Greater Chattanooga.

These films are for everyone to enjoy, and will include live performances, dance-alongs, sing-alongs and weekly costume contests.

* June 13: "Cinderella" starring Brandy and Whitney Houston. Dress like a princess or prince.

* June 20: "The Last Dragon." Wear your best 1980s neon gear.

* June 27: "The Wiz." Miller Plaza will morph into the Emerald City. Dress as your favorite character and sing-along to the soundtrack.

* July 18: "Black Panther." Wear your best Wakanda attire.
