Two businesses at the Choo Choo — Gate 11 Distillery and American Draft — are partnering to host this Irish-for-a-day event.

Gate 11 is the newly opened micro-distillery at the Chattanooga Choo Choo that distills, bottles and serves a wide range of spirits, as well as gives tours of its production process. American Draft is a beer taproom in the rail car directly behind the Choo Choo engine.

"Since they serve beer and we serve cocktails, there is a certain synergy to our collaboration," says Bill Lee, founder and distiller at Gate 11 Distillery.

The St. Paddy's Day party will include green beer, cocktails, live T-shirt screen printing and music by Sleazy, Sleazy and the Red Rogues.

There's no cover charge. Come check out these new businesses after the St. Chatty's Day Parade.

The Shamrock Society is hosting its sixth St. Chatty's Day Parade on Saturday, with proceeds to be donated to Chattanooga's Kids on the Block. Dress in green, paint a shamrock on your cheek, and head to Main and Market streets to cheer on the floats and revelers.

The parade will step off at 1 p.m. from Architectural Surfaces, take a right onto Market Street and end at Miller Park. Those streets will be closed from noon to 2:30 p.m.

The parade will feature high school marching bands, Alhambra Shrine units, the Highlanders Pipe and Drum Band as well as entries from local businesses and organizations.

After the parade, just walk a block up Georgia Avenue to Patten Parkway, where The Honest Pint will host its sixth annual St. Patrick's Day bash.

Party on the Parkway turns Patten Parkway into a block party with outdoor stage, food and beer vendors and a Kids Zone with interactive games and crafts.

Party hours are noon Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday inside the Honest Pint; 2 p.m. to midnight outside at the block party. The Kids Zone will close at 6 p.m. Saturday.

St. Paddy's on the Parkway features a continuous lineup of music to entertain partygoers. Playing this year are Nick Lutsko, The Molly Maguires, Psychic Dungeon, Summer Dregs, I Can Japan, Kerchief, Dirty Blonde, Ayla Sylver, Monday Night Social, The Scarlet Love Conspiracy, Better Thieves and Stringers Ridge.

Profits generated from gate sales will be donated to SoundCorps and to Kids on the Block.
