What pairs better with a day of fun in the great outdoors than a cold brew? A cold brew that helps preserve the area's natural assets for future generations to enjoy, that's what.

Whether you prefer outdoor pursuits on land or water, Chattanooga's craft breweries offer opportunities by the pint to preserve the places where you love to play.

For every can or pint sold of its Wild Trails Session IPA or Winter Warmer, OddStory Brewing Company donates 5% of the proceeds to Wild Trails, Chattanooga's trail preservation nonprofit. "Chattanooga is surrounded by such natural beauty, and we wanted to partner with a nonprofit dedicated to improving people's immersion in it," says OddStory co-owner Bryan Boyd, explaining that Wild Trails' mission is to provide more access to nature through well-maintained local trails and waterways. "They are a fantastic resource for Chattanooga."

At just 4.6% ABV, the low-gravity session IPA is perfect for sipping your way through a summer day, and its low alcohol content allows you to throw back enough to feel like you've made a significant contribution to the cause.

As temps drop, so does the brewery's Wild Trails Winter Warmer, a higher gravity (9% ABV) dark ale brewed with cinnamon, vanilla and toasted oak that warms the body after a day on the trail.

Each of the IPAs in Naked River Brewing Company's River Series benefits programs and organizations that influence or support the Tennessee River system. Order a Sturgeon General - a 5.6% ABV American IPA with a sweet floral aroma - and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute's effort to reintroduce the lake sturgeon to the Tennessee River, where the nearly decimated species was abundant prior to the construction of dams in the 1900s. Part of the proceeds from the sale of Naked River's Gorge IPA benefit the Tennessee River Gorge Trust, a local nonprofit that protects 17,000 acres of land in the Tennessee River Gorge. The juicy American IPA is smooth and slightly bitter, with a bubblegum aroma and 7.2% ABV. And it's as worth holding on to as the land it helpsto protect.
