A variation on a black Manhattan, the Goodnight Moon is made with a half-ounce of Amaro Averna - rather than the full ounce typically used in a black Manhattan - and the addition of a half-ounce of Tattersall Sour Cherry Liqueur, "just to give it a bit more whimsical feel, a little fruit to it," says Ryan Smith, who co-owns the recently opened Rosecomb pub with his wife, Chloe Wright.

It's the type of drink, he says, that the two would have as a nightcap. The drink's name is a tribute to one of Chloe's favorite childhood books, "Goodnight Moon." Located in a converted home in the Riverview neighborhood, the pub and restaurant feel more like a friend's house - a stylish friend with exceptional cocktail and culinary skills.

What you need:

* 2 ounces Chattanooga Whiskey 91

* ounce Tattersall Sour Cherry Liqueur

* ounce Amaro Averna

* 2 dashes Ragen's Orange Bitters No. 6

* Orange twist, for garnish

What you do:

Put all ingredients into a Boston shaker and add ice.

Stir for 15-20 seconds.

Pour over a big rock and garnish.
