Wet Paint Art Show offers fresh selection to public

Reflections Gallery will be introducing dozens of local artists to the community during the Wet Paint Art Show March 27 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Eastgate Town Center in the Main Atrium.

"The show will allow local artists to display and sell any unframed pieces," said Lora Miller, gallery associate for Eastgate Town Center Reflections Gallery. "So many times, artists do not have the ability to frame everything and many pieces do not get shown or sold."

Custom framing will be available for art lovers interested in framing to their own specific taste, according to Miller.

The gallery currently has more than 50 artists with approximately 370 pieces of artwork, mainly consisting of paintings. The introduction of photography, print and 3-D work is a smaller and newer addition to the collection. Artists at the show do not necessarily have to be in the gallery, but they must be local.

"Since we have one of the city's largest selections, we want to draw more people in by not only hosting events such as the Wet Paint Art Show, but by promoting monthly artists and offering group tours," Miller said. "Tours are the biggest thing right now. Eventually the goal is to coordinate organized programs, art lessons and activities for the community and schools."

These groups will learn intricate details and have the opportunity to get involved in creating their own artwork, she added.
