Joyride Concerts will present Music for Missions featuring Ivan Parker at Second Baptist Church Sunday, Aug. 14 at 6 p.m.

The show will be the third for the concert series, with a love offering benefitting a mission trip to the Philippines.

"Ivan Parker is a seasoned gospel singer and often called gospel music's favorite soloist, said Joyride Concerts promoter Elsie Miller. "You can't come to an Ivan Parker Concert without knowing how much God loves you by the end of the concert. I love hosting the concert. This concert is sponsored by 20 businesses or individuals. It will reach to the other side of the world, so it's not only encouraging to the people at the concert, but also to the people in the Philippines."

Miller, who will be going on the mission trip next April aided by the concert, said it will be her first time going to the Southeast Asian country.

The trip will be led by Edward Mills, a full-time missionary with World Reach Missions who goes on a mission to the Philippines annually. The Philippines mission is a two week trip, including a Bible camp at the Aurora Province in the mountains and a second Bible camp in Tarlac City. The mission includes evening church services and daily Bible classes.

To get the word out about the concert and the mission it benefits, Joyride has posted 120 concert posters in five towns of Summerville, Trion, LaFayette, Rock Spring and Chickamauga.

The church, located at 500 West Main Street in LaFayette, will host the concert with doors opening at 5 p.m.
