Hunt and Burrow is located along one of the busiest stretches of Gunbarrel Road, but many are not yet aware of the new antique and mercantile shop's existence.

Tucked away behind Home Depot, the 12,000-square-foot store is championing local artisans and refurbished items to residents from across the East Brainerd area and beyond.

"We're right in the thick of things but we're not that visible," said Britt Mishow, who co-owns the business with his wife, Deveau. "We've got 30,000 cars driving up and down the road, but not many of them see us."

That is something the Mishows are hoping to change for their business which opened several months ago and features more than 60 different vendors inside its walls.

In addition to local artisan and antique items, Hunt and Burrow offers classes in furniture painting, floral design, mosaic art, woodworking and more, Britt Mishow said.

The concept started simply through the couple's appreciation for estate sales and experience gained refurbishing or painting items, he said.

"The best way to describe it is like an antique mall where we have a collection of dealers," he said of their store. "Really, we just love what we do."

Hunt and Burrow is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1-6 p.m. The shop's Christmas Open House is being held place Nov. 11-13.
