Students at Ooltewah High School are wrapping up this year's round of food and cash collections for The Great Turkey Race, an annual donation drive at the school. The goal is to feed 80 local families this holiday season.

"As far as our kids go, they really look forward to this every year," said OHS teacher Taylor Flynn. "It's nice to see them feeling good about making a difference this time of the year."

With a points system as incentive for each homeroom to bring in nonperishable food and cash donations, students compete to donate the most, giving them a chance at prizes from local businesses, like pizza from Marco's. Cash donations will be used to buy things like turkey and milk, Flynn explained.
