On Tuesday, Oct. 2, residents in neighborhoods across the city gathered together for National Night Out. Established in 1984 with funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. Department of Justice, the program was developed as a crime prevention initiative that emphasizes building a partnership between the police and the community.
This year's local kickoff was held in St. Elmo, which offered fun, community-building activities that included a parade of cuddly corgi dogs.
