With the holiday season just around the corner, most people's already jam-packed schedules are about to get busier. New local meal prep service Hale Yeah, launching in early November, can take cooking off your seemingly endless to-do list.

"People are too busy to cook healthy food," said owner Wittney Hale, who previously sold cookies and cakes baked out of her home in East Ridge before transitioning to a commercial kitchen and shifting her focus to prepared meals.

Hale plans to offer four to five nutritious meal options each week. The month's menu will be posted on the business's website at the beginning of each month, and the site should be live soon. Until then, customers can find the week's menu and place orders on the Hale Yeah Facebook page.

Hale said there will be a variety of meal options, including low-carb dishes for people on diets such as the keto diet. Meals could include grilled chicken Alfredo with zoodles (zucchini noodles) and a side of broccoli, or "hidden veggie" mac and cheese and homemade sourdough.

"Whatever diet people are following, they can find a meal each week that they'll enjoy," she said.

Meals can be delivered within a 15-mile radius of Chattanooga, or picked up at to-be-determined locations around town. There's no minimum number of meals to purchase each week, and no recurring subscription customers are forced to sign up for.

The refrigerated meals can be reheated in the microwave. They will stay good for up to five days in the refrigerator and can also be frozen to last longer, said Hale. Meals come in individual and family sizes, and are served in recyclable plastic containers that eliminate the need to wash dishes.

A mother of an infant and 4- and 2-year-olds, Hale said she came up with the idea for the business when she tired of eating at Chick-fil-A multiple times a week.

"I want to help moms spend more time with their kids instead of cooking," she said. "This can help them save time and also feed their families nutritious meals."
