There may be a few more months before football begins, but in the meantime, Diamond has MLB Extra Innings, so all Major League Baseball games will be screened through the summer.
Diamond Billiard Club General Manager Jesse Howard knows the exact number of days before football season: 74. In anticipation, he has crafted the epic “game day” platter, featuring egg rolls, Reuben rolls, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, chicken sticks and the boneless, smoked and traditional varieties of the restaurant’s award-winning wings.
In May, Diamond’s wings took third place, for the second year in a row, in Chattanooga’s annual “Whiskey n Wings” competition.
“I like to say we’re the winning-est bronze medalists around,” Jesse said.
Indeed, Diamond is not just winning at wings, it is also winning at late nights.
“We’re bringing it back to what we truly are,” said Jesse, “a 3 a.m. bar that serves late-night munchies.”
Diamond’s kitchen is open until 2 a.m. seven days a week.
On Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to close, Diamond hosts “industry night,” offering discounts to all bartenders and servers — the ultimate late-night veterans. For members of the service industry deals include dollar drafts of Michelob Ultra, Bud Light and Miller Lite, as well as half-price appetizers. During industry night hours, Diamond offers all patrons discounted games of pool for $3 an hour.
Recently, Diamond introduced a new bar feature: cocktails on tap. The rotating selection might include crafty beverages such as the “green tea shot,” made with Jameson Irish Whiskey, peach schnapps, sour and a splash of Sprite; or the Long Island Iced Tea cocktail. The ingredients are mixed and then added to a barrel, where they steep and chill until ready to be poured.
