The drive to Dari Dip is a sweet one, along back roads past stands of Southern pines and the iconic Chickamauga Battlefield, heading toward the blue mountains that ripple across the horizon.

That drive sets the mood for the Dari Dip experience, which has a small-town, Southern feel also reflected in its menu.

Owned by father-son duo Don and Donald Benton, Dari Dip specializes in down-home eats, which compose quite a varied selection.

“We’ve got something for everybody,” Don said.

Options include cheeseburgers, choice-cut rib-eyes, crabcake platters, chicken livers, chicken salad and many more. There are salads topped with spicy chicken or clam strips, and appetizers such as shrimp cocktail or hot wings. The restaurant also offers soups, sandwiches, hamburgers, seafood, steak and other items.

And then, of course, there is the dessert menu, offering treats that rival the sweetness of the drive. There are milkshakes, sherbets, flavors of hand-scooped ice cream and more. And as the weather warms, Dari Dip’s ice cream will shine brighter and brighter, much like the sunny back road that leads to the North Georgia restaurant.
