Specializing in affordable but quality hibachi, Soho has made quite a name for itself — twice. Between its Hixson and Fort Oglethorpe locations, the Japanese eatery has racked up more than a half dozen “Best of the Best” awards, the Chattanooga Times Free Press’ annual readers’ choice awards, including “Best Japanese Restaurant,” and a myriad of stellar online reviews.

In fact, on travel review website TripAdvisor, Soho’s Fort Oglethorpe location is ranked the fifth most popular of the town’s 51 restaurants, while Hixson’s Soho is ranked 18 out of 98.

But Soho is not one for pageantry. Its storefront is humble, but its dishes are fresh and its portions are enormous. Soho forgoes not only pomp but also the traditional hibachi show, while still providing the same expertly-crafted dishes — in half the time and for half the price.

Examples of Soho’s best-selling dishes include vegetable udon stir-fry; special noodle soup; and chicken and shrimp hibachi, tossed in a tangy golden sauce on a bed of freshly grilled vegetables and served with customer’s choice of white rice, fried rice, brown rice or noodles.

Yes, between its convenient locations and bounty of authentic eats, Soho has become more than a name. It’s become one of the most popular Japanese eateries in the Tennessee Valley.
